POLB PIER E BATTERY EXCHANGE SYSTEM

Details: Berths 401-404, APM Terminals, Port of Los Angeles, CA. Project Manager/Lead Electrical Engineer for the design of electrifying several RTG’s via an above ground 480V bus system, the first in the United States. Design work included verification of existing available infrastructure, pre-purchase of long lead equipment, permitting, construction administration, and relay coordination.

Details: Pier B, Port of Long Beach, CA. Lead Electrical Engineer for the design of a floating dock system for the POLB maintenance department. Design work included verification of existing available infrastructure, permitting, construction administration, and relay coordination.

ANACAPA

Details: Anacapa Wharf, Anacapa Island, CA. Lead Electrical Engineer for the design of a new concrete cantilevered pile supported wharf with generator as service to a manlift located on the wharf. The island is not fed from any utility and all electrical is either solar or diesel generator. Design work included verification of existing available infrastructure, permitting, construction administration, and relay coordination.

LEEWAY

Details: Leeway Sailing Center, Long Beach, CA. Lead Electrical Engineer for the design of a new wharf and floating dock for the Leeway Sailing Center. Design work included verification of existing available infrastructure, verification of existing services, new SCE service for existing and new pier and dock lighting with LED decorative lighting for the Gondola Getaway operations building, permitting, construction administration, and relay coordination.

USS IOWA

Details: Pacific Battleship Center, USS Iowa, Port of Los Angeles, CA. Project Manager/Lead Electrical Engineer for the design and development of construction documents to provide shore power, Alternative Maritime Power, for the USS Iowa. Design work included verification of the existing available infrastructure both on shore and on vessel, coordination of pre-purchase of long lead equipment, permitting, construction administration, and relay coordination, arc-flash and short circuit calculations and
coordination with LADWP representatives to construct new service for the vessel.
